Kopara Reindeer Park

Located in Pelkosenniemi near Pyhätunturi, Kopara Reindeer Park is a family-run reindeer farm offering visitors a glimpse into the everyday life and traditions of reindeer herding in Lapland.

Luosto Creative was invited to refresh the interiors of the relaxed buffet restaurant and café within the main building. The design approach focused on a simple strategy: bringing the identity and story of the place clearly into the space.

The farm’s distinctive Kopara red colour was introduced across key interior elements, creating warmth and a clear visual anchor for the dining environment. New fixed seating was designed to improve comfort and spatial flow, while the buffet furniture was updated to better support the restaurant’s service.

To extend the narrative of the reindeer farm into the environment, the studio created reindeer-themed external signage and interior wall murals. Custom textiles were also developed for the space, featuring the family’s traditional reindeer ear marks — a subtle reference to the heritage of the farm.

Through a small number of carefully considered interventions, the project demonstrates how a clear design strategy can translate the story of a place into a distinctive environment while improving the everyday experience of visitors.
