HEMPEA Brand Identity Refresh

A refined identity for a Lapland-based hemp home textile brand, rooted in the atmosphere of the Arctic night.

Hempea is a premium home textile brand based in Ivalo, Lapland, known for its sustainable hemp products and calm, natural aesthetic. The project focused on refreshing the brand identity while preserving the essence that makes HEMPEA distinctive.

The approach was based on carefully defining what to keep and what to refine. Key elements of the existing identity were retained to maintain continuity, while selected details were clarified such as the text logo and strengthened to give the brand a clearer character and visual presence.

A new colour tone inspired by the polar night was introduced into the palette. This deep, atmospheric shade brings a sense of northern depth to the identity, making the brand more recognisable while rooting it firmly in the Arctic landscape and the quiet darkness of the northern winter sky.

Together, these refinements create a stronger and more distinctive identity that preserves Hempea’s calm, premium feel while giving the brand a clearer voice and a deeper connection to its northern origins.

A Clear Identity That Extends Across Touchpoints

A clearly defined brand identity makes it easier to translate the brand consistently across different applications — from spaces and products to packaging and communication. By working with a small set of distinctive visual elements, the brand becomes both recognisable and flexible. This clarity not only strengthens the brand presence but also makes it faster and more cost-effective to apply the identity across future designs and touchpoints.

As part of the project, we also designed the Habitaré Ahead stand, creating a solution that was simple, clear and easy to assemble. The stand translated the brand identity into a physical space while demonstrating how a well-defined visual language can be efficiently applied across environments and brand experiences.
