Colourful Apartment Renovation in Länsi-Pasila, Helsinki

A timeless two-bedroom home shaped through colour, kitchen design, and custom textiles. This apartment refurbishment in Länsi-Pasila brings together old and new to create a layered, timeless home. The design carefully integrates existing furniture and rugs into a cohesive whole, allowing the original pieces to guide the spatial and material direction.

The kitchen and colour palette were developed in dialogue with these elements, ensuring continuity throughout the apartment. Upcycled Artek furniture adds character and depth, reinforcing a design approach rooted in longevity and reuse.

Custom-designed textiles complete the interior, tying together colours, materials, and atmosphere. The result is a home that feels both distinctive and enduring—where every element belongs, and nothing feels added without purpose.

Scope:

Interior Design

A design shaped around the client’s wish for a timeless and cosy home — layered with personality and an eclectic mix of old and new.

The nearby forest is reinterpreted through textiles — bringing a sense of Helsinki’s natural landscape into the home.

Alongside this, a rya rug depicting a reindeer calf adds a soft, personal layer, reflecting the client’s connection to Lapland.

Where Everything Belongs

Old and new, colour and calm, city and forest — brought together into a cohesive whole that feels both effortless and complete. A home where contrasts are carefully balanced, creating a space that feels layered, personal, and quietly resolved.
